Audit Manager, Retail and SME Credit Risk

A large retail banking group is looking for an Audit Manager to join their growing and expanding Credit Risk and SME Credit Risk Audit team. The team is third line accountability and offer a unique level of exposure to different product lines, which can rarely be found in another role. You would be joining a team of experienced professionals who have been in the business for years and have an understanding of the banking group. This internal audit job is an exceptional opportunity to be dealing with a very high net worth portfolio, and coming into contact with senior retail credit risk management team. You would be reporting to the Head of Audit for the department, who is looking to offer a lot of responsibility a person who is up to the challenge, the learning curve and the personal and professional development this role expects.
You will design and apply retail credit risk management control frameworks and implements controls required to mitigate common weaknesses, as well as identify and assess potential risks working in line with current regulatory and statutory requirements to minimise impact to the business. Hence knowledge of regulatory environment and requirements in the financial services business environment is a benefit.
The ideal candidate would have practical experience in managing the credit risk associated with a retail credit portfolio or retail credit audit experience gained in a large financial services organisation. You would need an understanding of core consumer credit products such as personal loans, credit cards, overdraft and mortgages, as well as SMEs and business banking. A proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior management is core. The role requires a maximum of 20% travel, mostly within the UK, but also to Europe.
