Our client provides audit and business advisory services to a wide range of companies.Their clients operate in a large range of different industries such as Technology and export-driven firms.
As an Audit Senior you will participate in every aspect of a client engagement, from planning to execution to completion. Depending on the size of the client, you will typically be part of a team of 2 - 5 people, acting as in-charge on an engagement, reporting into the Audit Manager/Senior Manager or Partner and reviewing the work of more junior staff on the engagement.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting research in order to have an in-depth understanding of a client's industry and business
- Considering the audit approach to the engagement, which makes effective use of team members' skills and is within budget for the assigned components
- Ensuring that all work is completed and documented in accordance with prescribed standards
- Demonstrating strong technical knowledge and having the ability to research issues, present alternatives and conclusions
- Monitoring the progress of the junior team members towards completion of work and adjusting the work plan when necessary
- Continuously communicating with the Manager and/or Partner with respect to engagement progress - risks, issues, variances from plan in terms of time, budget, etc
- Drafting complete financial statements and related notes as well as initial drafts of reports to the client
Requirements:
Education Professional Qualifications:
- A recognised university degree or equivalent
- Qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent from a recognised international accounting institution)
Experience required:
- At least 4 years practice accounting experience in a large accounting firm - qualified in past 12 months
- Previous experience auditing Industry clients essential
- Detailed understanding of lrish GAAP and knowledge / understanding of US GAAP and IFRS would be advantageous
