Audit Senior Manager – FS Industry (Treasury) – South East Region recruitment

As a Senior Manager within Deloitte's regional Financial Services team, you will have a key role helping us to build a business focused on helping clients across a whole spectrum of industries address their corporate treasury challenges, providing deep treasury experience across financial products and markets, risk management, systems, valuation and accounting to both clients and internally. Your credentials will gain you immediate credibility when dealing both with clients and internally and you will bring your experience to bear in helping addressing client challenges and helping build Deloitte's proposition in this area,
Due to an expectation of ongoing growth we are currently seeking to recruit a senior manager to lead and develop the treasury capabilities within our group. This role would include:
- Treasury consulting including strategic advice related to funding, liquidity, IR, commodity and FX risk management, operational risk, benchmarking reviews, systems selection and implementation .
- Reviews and validation of the valuation and risk management of complex derivatives and securities at Financial Institutions and Corporate Treasuries both as external auditors and as independent advisors
- Financial instruments valuation and modelling (e.g. valuation assessments and validation of models at major dealing banks and funds, review of hedge accounting models and results)
- Financial instruments accounting advice (e.g. accounting advice in relation to structured transactions, corporate finance due diligence and restructuring in addition to core accounting opinion work). This may also include facilitation of training materials to clients and internal colleagues.
- Provide key clients with expert internal audit services, which take the form of a completely outsourced internal audit function or co-source arrangements under which support is provided to the client's own internal audit function.
- Assist corporate clients in improving the efficiency of the treasury function that exists within an organisation. This may involve setting up the function from scratch, review of treasury management systems and benchmarking, or simply assisting in a specific area of treasury management such as the cash forecasting process.
- Development of firm propositions in relation to Treasury working alongside other parts of the firm.
- Management of client relationships and contribution to general marketing activities.
The role we are looking to fill may be tailored to the individual and we are looking for someone who can add value to the partnership as opposed to someone to fill a specific role.
To be considered, you will ideally possess some or all of the following attributes:
- A 2:1 degree or above or equivalent qualification or experience
- An understanding of the Treasury function (AMCT or MCT qualified would be an advantage)
- ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification or experience
- Experience of Financial Instrument accounting and / or valuation under either or more than one of IFRS, UK GAAP or US GAAP
- Industry experience gained within large financial services firm such as a bank, fund manager or treasury department of a large corporate is a strong preference, but experience from a consultancy or accountancy practice will be considered if this is strongly aligned to the specific skills required.
- Experience in the interest rate, fx, equity, commodity and or credit markets either in trading, risk, IPV or finance
- Excellent oral and written communication, planning, project management, networking and influencing skills
- Experience of business development and an ability to be proactive and use initiative is essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable self managing projects but know when to seek support from the wider team. .
- Ability to interact with clients and other professionals across the firm
- Desire to work in an advisory consulting environment and build a business and a career in professional services
