AUM Associate
The AUM team is looking for an individual to:
- Participate in the weekly monthly production processes of AUM flow data
- Ensure that client data is delivered timely accurately.
- Identify ways to improve/enhance the current AUM, Flow and Pipeline recon processes.
- Participate lead tactical strategic initiatives and projects.
- Improve communication with our clients to better understand their needs and deliver the right data quality granularity on time.
Responsibilities:
- Gain a full understanding of the Global AUM process and successfully complete the weekly and monthly tasks requirements by the specified deadlines
- Ensure AUM regulatory reporting is in compliance with AUM and relevant BlackRock policies.
- Challenge existing processes/procedures, identify ways to improve and see them through to implementation
- Keep abreast of the Aladdin migration plan and ensure that the AUM production process is kept whole and well controlled through each of these migrations.
- Provide excellent client service to Finance, Corporate Development and other internal clients.
- Develop a strong working relationship with our partners (e.g. PCI, DIG, CCG, other) and improve working practices.
- Become a contributor to the development of appropriate metrics and control framework to manage and report AUM flows.
- Gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the current Aladdin based AUM model.
- Partner with colleagues in other business areas (Business Operations, PMG, Client Businesses, Cop. Dev. and Finance) to build strong end-to-end business processes.
Skills / Experience:
- Significant hands-on Operational/Fund Accounting experience, within Investment Banking or Investment Management.
- Thorough understanding of the transaction lifecycle and key control frameworks.
- Analytical, innovative and organized.
- Strong understanding of investment processes across all product structures.
- Track record of being able to work to challenging deadlines
- Ability to justify and defend proposed approaches.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Can work effectively within a team environment.
- Needs initiative, drive and enthusiasm.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities – ability to interact with all levels, including business heads and the firm's senior management.
- Strong prioritization and influencing skills and ability to manage differing requirements from multiple 'clients'.
- Experience of developing strong partnerships with other business areas and external counterparts, both locally and globally.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with VBA a plus
