Macquarie's business is structured into six operating groups and four service groups. Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) is a global institutional securities house with strong Asia-Pacific foundations covering sales, research, ECM, execution and derivatives and delta one activities. The group uses its research and risk management skills to develop equity-based solutions and services for clients internationally.
Working within a flat management structure, you will be given the tools, autonomy and flexibility to build upon your skills and experience to develop and grow our cash equities business.
The Macquarie Securities Group has an opportunity for an Institutional Sales Professional to join the Australian and New Zealand equity desk based in New York covering the North American institutional investor base.
The successful candidate will:
- Service a diverse base of institutional investors actively investing in the Australian New Zealand (ANZ) equity markets
- Focus on distributing the industry leading ANZ single stock, economic and strategic research to that North American client base
- Research original ideas and tailor investment opportunities to individual clients' investment process
- Demonstrate an ability to originate and build professional partnerships
- Participate in corporate road shows and corporate marketing events with clients
- Build and strengthen corporate relationships with ANZ listed companies
Depending on the level of experience of the candidate the following will be favorable characteristics but not pre-requisites:
- Institutional equity sales experience in the Australian market or on an offshore desk focusing on the Australian market
- Proven and progressive work history in the financial markets
- Existing US institutional relationships and experience to the role
The following are prerequisites for the role:
· Be entrepreneurial, self-motivated and have the capacity to work autonomously
· Be competitive, hard working, driven by success and committed to quality output
· Have a high level of drive and commercial acumen, coupled with a willingness to take responsibility
· Have an aptitude for travel
· Have the ability to work as part of a team. The ability to cooperate, contribute and work effectively within a team environment and a shared sense of responsibility and success
· Hold the Series 7 and 63 qualifications; or be willing to obtain them
