ModelN – ImpACT product development group is seeking an Expert Automation QA Engineer. As part of the Revenue Management Analytics team, responsible for the design, development and maintenance of modular, extensible and reusable automated test scripts in an Agile development environment. The Analytics offerings are a major growth area for Model N, providing a comprehensive suite of applications allowing our customers to explore, analyze and manage mission critical business insights.
The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle; extensive experience in Quality Assurance processes, methodologies, and best practices; hands-on skills in all aspects of automated testing.
The candidate must be able to learn quickly, work in a fast paced team driven environment, and have the ability to communicate across the teams.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the holistic effort of delivering high quality software on time - in an Agile development environment.
Provide structure, direction, and support for all project-related QA activities.
Design, develop and maintain functional test scripts
Work with the Automation testing team to plan increased automation coverage for faster regression testing.
Perform hands-on testing of complex features
Perform function testing to support the scrum team's development effort.
Work in close cooperation with business users, developers and release engineers
Responsible for detailed analysis required to translate high level functional requirements into detailed Use Cases and Test Cases.
Work with Core QA team to suggest process related changes
Excellent trouble shooting skills product, OS, system setup related issues.
Minimum Skills/Experience
4- 8 years of Software QA experience and a distinguished track record on highly technical projects
3+ years in automated testing environment with strong experience with frameworks and tools.
Experience with HP Quality Center with emphasis on QTP, highly desired. Other frameworks such as Selenium or Test Quest will qualify candidate for consideration.
Strong SQL experience in data validation for correctness of analytics applications – a Must Have.
Experience with VBScript highly desired. Experience with other scripting language such as JavaScript, Perl etc. will qualify for consideration.
Extensive test script development.
Must be well versed in testing of complex enterprise software.
Experience testing software in an Agile development environment and continuous integration, highly desired.
Experience with BI, analytics and ETL software such as Micro Strategy, Cognos, Business Object and/or Informatica highly desired.
Testing Certification preferred.
Other Skills/Experience:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and attention to detail.
Ability to work on projects that have aggressive deadlines.
Experience in start-up companies a plus.
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
