AUTOMATION / ROBOTICS TECHNICIAN 

Summary:    A large, International and World-Class manufacturing company seeks a talented hands-on  Automation and Robotics Technician.   We are looking for top talent, and you will be sent to ABB training to be able to program their robotics.   This position is open because of fantastic growth.  You will be heavily involved in specifying and setting up and programming end of arm tooling and robotics.  We are looking for a multi-skilled automation and maintenance expert, so you will also participate in maintenance activities.

  

Duties and Responsibilities for Automation and Robotics Technician:

·         Be heavily involved in the specification of end of arm tooling, robot set up, programming robot to meet cycle times and all items specific to automation for new products being introduced to the shop floor.

·         Adjust, maintain and troubleshoot automation and end of arm tooling to maximize uptime and output, ensure product quality and prevent product non-conformances related to automation activities.

·         Understands PLC programs and uses it to debug and troubleshoot processes. Ability to program and make program changes.

·         Actively participates in new equipment design reviews, APQP process, and takes lead on new automation/ equipment builds to ensure on time delivery of equipment meeting project requirements.

·         Perform preventative and repair maintenance tasks when needed.   Assist plant maintenance team as an active team member.

·         Creates new equipment/automation maintenance and standard operating procedure documents.

 

Requirements:

•        2+ years of related automation and robotics programming

•        2+ years of maintenance experience with specific experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, various sensors, preventative maintenance, and repairs.

•        Ability to program robots, and improve programs to meet cycle times.  ABB knowledge is a feather in your cap, but any programming experience is perfect.

·         Ability to design and/or specify effective end of arm tooling and able to read, understand and make shop drawings or blueprints (AutoCAD).  Ability to design with ACAD is a benefit.

•        Have to be a hands-on, involved on the plant floor, well rounded and multi-talented maintenance and automation pro.  This is not a desk-job doing programming, it’s a hands-on position, working at the machines.

·         Knowledge of OSHA Requirements to include Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, and Authorized Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
