Automotive Collision Mechanical Technician
DescriptionJob Summary:
The Collision Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair as assigned in accordance with the dealer and factory standards.
Job Responsibilities:
o Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy
o Diagnose the cause of malfunction and performs the needed repair
o Communicates with Parts Department to obtain the needed parts
o Examines the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
o Advises Collision Center Manager if additional work is needed
o Documents all work performed as soon as the job is completed
o Uses basic mathematical skills to solve simple equations for mixing chemicals
o Attends factory sponsored training classes
o Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous wastes
o Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers
o Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
Required ExperienceQualifications:
o Must meet company's requirements for employment
o ASE certification (preferred)
o At least two years automotive experience (preferred)
o Must have a valid drivers license
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
o Ability to operate an automobile
o Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for prolonged periods
o Ability to work in various working conditions both indoors and outdoors, including but not limited to extreme heat and/or cold, and rain
o Ability to kneel, bend, and/or reach above the shoulders
o Ability to lift 10- 60 lbs
Required Educationo High school graduate or equivalent
o Technical degree is preferred
