Autopsy Specialist Job
The Autopsy Lab Tech owns the root cause and failure analysis for all plant reject and field return heartbeat components. Parts are to include but not limited to electronic control boards, water valves, timers, compressors, wire harnesses, switches, motors, and condensers. Essential Responsibilities Live, promote and teach the GE Production System philosophy and drive continuous improvement in the technical process areas of a specified production process Direct problem resolution to appropriate team member (ie: Quality Inspection Engineer, Purchased Material Quality) after identifying root cause issue. Daily pickup, receipt, autopsy (root cause/failure analysis) and data logging/collection. Manage the testing processes and procedures for the lab, insuring all training documentation is accurate and controlled as part of the plant quality system. Manage the part tracking database and segregating No Defect Found parts to be returned to the Assembly Line and prepare Defective parts to be returned to the supplier. Ownership over the data and data analysis for the autopsy parts, understanding and identifying trends and common cause issues, and ensuring output from the autopsy process is visible and understood by the team. Review daily service calls for trends (particularly negative) and significant or abnormal changes to reduce Service Call Rate and improve Outgoing Rate. Work with area teams including operators, team leaders, and process improvement engineers on problem solving for issues exposed by suspect parts analysis. Ownership for the functionality, calibration, and preventative maintenance of test equipment. Communicate findings from analysis to GE team members, suppliers, plant operators, and plant leadership on a regular basis. Visual Management of Quality activities and metrics yield, scrap, Service Call Rate, Outgoing Rate, etc. Qualifications/Requirements: BS Technical degree or comparable experience required. Six Sigma training / Green Belt Certification. Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing/operations or quality roles. Proven ability to influence and drive change Solid verbal/written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills. Advanced computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft products (especially Excel) and ability to grasp new systems quickly Strong project management and analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate/implement solutions. Some travel may be required. Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
