Avaya Engineer – Avaya, SIP, IP Office, Avaya IP Office and Voicemail Pro
Our central London based client is the major player in financial outsourced infrastructure support; their clients are all the major funds and they have established a reputation for fast effective and professional support.
The Voice Engineer will be responsible for being the technical lead and escalation point for implementing and maintaining all aspects of my client’s customer technology. This includes daily support incidents, troubleshooting voice issues, and training users. You will be working with the worlds top and most demanding hedge funds and responsible for the whole of the Avaya product Suite.
As a Support Engineer you will be travelling to client sites, in and around the London area, to deal with issues which require an onsite presence. This may also involve spending periods of time as a secondment engineer permanently based at a client’s site or supporting onsite project work. This includes daily support incidents, troubleshooting, hardware/software installation and upgrades, new infrastructure build outs and relocations/
On a day to day basis the Avaya Engineer can expect to be involved in:
- Implementation of voice solutions (mainly Avaya)
- Maintenance across client site
- Troubleshooting e.g. recovery of clients’ environment in the event of system failure or disaster
This is a lead role so opportunities for training are massive as are thet to be certified across the MS and Avaya stack. You will also have responsibility for full voice plans including those of new clients. We are looking to build a team around this person so those interested in development I would be interested to speak to. I would expect to see several Avaya certifications as well as full product suite knowledge and the desire to learn more.
Candidates MUST have:
- Advanced Knowledge of all Avaya Communication Manager versions
- Knowledge of legacy Avaya products (Merlin, Partner, etc.)
- Knowledge of Avaya Voicemail products including Intuity Audix, IA770/CMM, Aura Messaging, Modular Messaging
- Knowledge of all versions of Avaya IP Office and Voicemail Pro
- Basic Networking
- Module Messaging Experience
- Basic Windows Knowledge
- Basic Cisco hardware knowledge
- Basic Linux Knowledge
- Basic SIP
- Basic low voltage wiring knowledge
- Knowledge of voice circuit provisioning
As you will be client-facing within high profile financial organisations on a day-to-day basis it is imperative that you have the highest level of presentation, communication and professionalism.
My client runs a flexible 9 hour day so you will be expected to work 48 hours a week either starting or finishing late.
