The ideal Avaya Support Engineer candidate will possess the following experience:
Responsible for leading the Avaya Telephony Systems technical support efforts including Avaya PBX, conference bridges, Avaya Session Manager, Avaya AES SES servers. Self-motivated possess the ability to work independently to resolve complex issues. Experience as the lead voice engineer with overall responsibilities for voice communications is preferred.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Resolving alarms and reported issues for various Avaya voice, fax modem components, Voice over IP issues managing support cases.
- Mentorying training other support personnel in the area of Avaya technologies.
- Close integration with data networking support personnel as well as all other groups within the telecommunications organization.
- Experience in a highly complex voice environment managing multiple multi-vender PBX systems with complex dial plans.
- Strong knowledge of dial plans and PBX routing including UDP, AAR and ARS
- Coordinate with other technical teams to develop appropriate interfaces ensure quality and efficiency through capacity planning, performance assessment as well as integration and regression testing involving Avaya Telephony Systems.
- Support of Avaya voice over IP solutions Call Center solutions.
- 3rd level operations support, analysis troubleshooting of voice, circuit network components
- Voice Network Implementation - adding cards, upgrades to PBX, VOIP testing
- Hardware and software support, including firmware upgrades on Avaya gateways including G430, G450 and G3 Definity cabinets
- Updates and upgrades of telephony components including PBX, AES, SES, ASM
- SIP phone configuration support
- Solid knowledge of VoIP
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 - 5 years of application development and support experience with Avaya Telephony Systems. Prefer experience with AES, Linux and Avaya support applications.
- 3 - 5 years of technical analysis and Avaya systems design.
- 3 - 5 years telephony support.
- Avaya CM3 and CM5 experience with VoIP integration
- College Degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, and/or equal business experience in Telecommunications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Project management experience
- AES and Communications Manager Experience
- Avaya professional services certifications
- Solid experience in VoIP and Network Engineering, and experience in the design, implementation, migration and support of voice, networking, and related products.
- Experience with Avaya support tools and processes
- Avaya PLDS
