AVP – Document Review Unit (Compliance & OR) recruitment
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:
• Interpret and analyse Central bank legislations, UAE laws and regulation, internal policies / procedures to use them for documentary reviews and inculcate the same through these.
• Liase with the UAE Central Bank for resolution of all issues
• Train the staff in the bank on Controls, compliance, AML and Risk Management with the objective of inculcating risk and compliance-control culture within the bank
• Assist other departments in establishing adequate and relevant best practice policies
• Support the business, operational and administrative units of the bank with respect to new initiatives, new products and services introduced, by way of reviewing the same.
• Understand the risk management concepts and adequately back-up for other managers in risk management team.
• Continously seek to review the documentary policies / procedures / agreements / other documents and areas of the bank to ensure that adequate controls are incorporated and that they ae compliant with regulatory requirements, internal policy requirements and general banking requirements
• Assist the HoCOR in the conduct and supervision of internal investigations / reviews.
• Minimum standards of operating control and management disciplines, which must be adopted while transactions are processed at unit level. These are to be managed through studying, reviewing and applying required controls / best practices in the policies / procedures at unit levels.
• Involve in creation and implementation of analytical tools, which enable appropriate risks to be identified and controlled before any significant financial or reputational loss occurs.
• Assist in the efforts to enable the Bank to meet the requirement of Compliance / operational risk management as specified by the Central Bank / other agencies.
• Assist in independent review of the Operational risk function by OR section, regulators and other relevant agencies to ensure transparency and compliance to documented policies and procedures for the function. • Perform such operating activities as may be assigned by the Head-OR Compliance.
JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
• Post Graduate or equivalent degree in Finance, Sciences, Management or Accountancy Degree.
• Professional degree / diploma in audit / review is desirable.
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the related fields of risk / compliance/ audit / OR in Banks or financial institution.
• Must have exposure to IT area within banks
• Substantial experience in overall banking. A well-rounded exposure to different areas in the Bank will be preferred.
RELEVANT SKILLS:
• Sound knowledge and understanding of Bank’s Risk Compliance requirement.
• Sound knowledge of database tools (SQL) and common PC applications (MS Office)
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• High initiative and independence.
• Knowledge of Arabic written and spoken will be an advantage.
• Excellent self organisation skills .
