AVP, Agency Development
Responsible for the development, execution and communication of industry-leading agency distribution strategies and agency programs that support key business objective and provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Maintains strong relationships with the regions, SBUs and agents to provide necessary support to ensure the achievement of profitable growth targets. Establishes an agency distribution vision within the Company's corporate strategies and values to ensure continued business success.

- Develops, executes and articulates industry-leading agency distribution strategies and agency programs that support key business objectives and provides a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Establishes an agency distribution vision within the Company's corporate strategies and values to ensure continued business success.
- Identifies and develops opportunities for additional agency distribution options, particularly to seize opportunities across multiple regions and SBU's, e.g. with banks/consolidators and clusters/franchises. Interprets and predicts agency distribution trends (e.g. agency consolidation/perpetuation planning and diversity) and formulates plans to address those trends. Works with the regions, SBU's and PL to affect an agency distribution strategy to maximize growth and market penetration.
- Works with the Insurance Operations leadership, Marketing and Communications groups in the development and implementation of agency communication strategies. Develops and maintains value-added agency services and programs that further strengthen agency relationships and enable Selective to leverage greater profitable growth within agencies.
- Develops, monitors, and modifies the Company's agency compensation plan to incent the achievement of profitable growth, including direct commission, expense reimbursement agreements and CSR/producer incentives. Works with regional management, Personal Lines and HR to maintain and manage the AMS, FMS TM compensation programs.
- Oversees policies and procedures for agency appointments and terminations, agency contracts, agency licensing and resolves disputes when necessary regarding issues such as agent of record situations.
- Develops process of agency/company planning; counsels planning participants on all facets of the process including plans for the execution and monitors to ensure that plan objectives are met. Maintains and enhances eSelect agency reports and Agency Profile.
- Works with Business Intelligence group on agency segmentation analysis, including the incorporation of agency segmentation in agency reviews, new agency appointments and agency/company planning processes.
- Works with the Insurance Training Development Manager to ensure agency education programs are planned, organized, implemented throughout corporate, regional and agency offices. Keeps current on all changes effecting TD department's work production. Assists in the preparation and presentation of company sponsored schools and seminars for AMSs, including the annual AMS Conference and new AMS orientation sessions.
- Manages the Company's membership and represents Selective in major industry associations (IIABA and PIA) including optimizing effectiveness of participation in various programs such as Trusted Choice.
- Works with various areas to plan and hold successful agency meetings, including Producer Councils, Road Shows, sales meetings, President's Club, etc.
- Ability to drive strategic initiatives across business areas

- Ability to travel up to 25% of time.
- Bachelor's degree or related experience.
- CPCU or CIC preferred
- 7+ years experience marketing through independent agency distribution
- 7+ years experience developing agency distribution strategies
- 5+ years supervisory or leadership experience
- 5+years SBU or Field operations experience
