AVP, Credit Analyst – Energy recruitment

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) General

1.Reviews/assesses credit applications from branches/agencies.

2.Provides effective analysis of credit including, worthiness of applicant, loan structure, risk return, applicant operating profile and industry profile including historical profit and loss performance, financial condition and cash flow. Analyzes cash flow projections, commenting on the reasonableness of assumptions in both management’s and Mizuho’s sensitivity cases. Compares the prospective borrower to its peers and notes industry trends.

3.Prepares well-organized, accurate, clear and complete written summary/analysis (Credit Opinion) with recommendations for approval or decline. Discusses with branches/agencies potential structure changes or other conditions for which we would grant credit approval.

4.Presents credit approval recommendations to General Manager and DGM. 

5.Thoroughly analyzes and recommends appropriate industry and Borrower exposure to maximize risk return.

6.Proactively monitors and assesses assigned borrowers/industries including market data such as share price, EDF, CDS or loan secondary price or other appropriate indices and reports the information and its impact on credits/industries to Senior Management in a timely manner.

7.With appropriate guidance from DGM and VPs, instructs branches/agencies regarding credit standards, policies, objectives and requirements.

8.Acts as liaison between, gathers information (especially on problem customers) from and exchanges views with branches/agencies/other Credit Divisions and senior management regarding issues related to credit applications, monitoring, analysis, standards and  policies.

2) Administrative

Check applications and other documents sent from front office if they are in compliance with internal procedures

3) Technical Skills Required

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills

• Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Bloomberg, CDM

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS OR EXPERIENCE:
• Industry/market knowledge and information on key industry players.
• Analytical skills and ability to analyze the underlying credit trends, including the competence to accurately assess the credit migration trends and default possibility of the borrowers.
• Ability to accurately identify and evaluate underlying risk elements of the borrowers in accurate manner.
• Ability to write well organized, accurate and in depth reports based on information gathered.
• Ability to effectively and accurately monitor on an on-going basis the pool of credits to detect potential credit problems at an early stage.
• Time management skills. Ability to plan and schedule work to meet both long term and short term time frames.
• Verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Interpersonal skills. Capable of working well independently and in teams.
• Knowledge of Mizuho’s credit policies and procedures.
