The Credit Restructuring Advisory Group (CRAG) is a team within the Credit Risk function of Barclays Capital. The role of the CRAG team is to manage exposure to counterparties where deterioration in credit risk is clearly evidenced to the extent that timely or full recovery is considered to be at risk. CRAG takes over the full relationship management as well as the credit role for counterparties managed by the Group. CRAG works with the counterparty, other creditors, financial and legal advisors to maximize recovery for the firm.

Main Function

This is an AVP role so the successful candidate will have some experience in restructurings and workouts in either a financial institution, advisory firm, or other comparable institution. Further, familiarity with CDOs, CLOs, CDPCs, and other structured credit products would also be viewed positively.

The candidate will be responsible for supporting senior members of the team and their caseloads of counterparties. This will involve performing valuation analyses, preparing reports, and, together with senior team members, negotiating with all related parties and taking roles on coordinating committees to achieve maximum recovery for BarCap. This also includes reviewing appropriate strategy, obtaining internal approvals and communicating as appropriate with senior management within BarCap and GFRM Credit Risk. Additionally, the role requires someone who is able to work with external and internal stakeholders (eg legal, portfolio, counterparty risk, finance).

Further, the role is within BarCap's credit risk function so the candidate will also have responsibilities commensurate with a credit officer, including writing of credit and committee papers and maintaining appropriate information in credit risk systems.
