Job Summary

This is a Middle Office Finance function for Product and Financial Control within the GBS organization. The candidate will be accountable for the managing and growing the service delivery for daily T+1 reconciliation and monthly financial control .The products covered are Cash Equities, Swaps,  Bonds, Options, Futures,  CDS and IRS traded out of Europe, US and Asia.

Duties Responsibilities:

• Ensure daily reconciliation production with appropriate resolution and MI for the GM  trading business, across NY, Lon and FFT

• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet, with substantiation and potential financial exposure.

• Understanding of the front to back process in a trading environment.

• Responsible for the performance and associated risks for all activities performed within the service delivery group ensuring at a minimum all SLAs are met.

• Lead, motivate and manage a team of app 20+ people. Responsible for recruitment, training and development, talent management, staff performance reviews and compensations.

• Foster an environment that understands and effectively manage risk, abides by risk and control guidelines

• Ensure the group is fully engaged in the Operational Risk and Performance Management framework enabling the identification, quantification, reporting, prioritization and resolution of risk and/or sub-optimal performance. Take full accountability for addressing risk and/or sub-optimal performance within the remit

• Partner with the change team and onshore stakeholders to deliver an optimum operating environment through the adoption of best practice, kaizen and lean methodologies.

• Responsible for implementing and managing an effective business resilience model

• Ensure the integrity of the operating environment meets audit or regulatory standards.

• Champion the “extend-team” model, celebrate successes and lead from the front and tackle issues head on.

Experience / Requirements:

Essential:

• 8 + years Financial Control experience in Investment Banking, preferably equities.

• Strong understanding of financial market products such as Credit Derivatives, Cash Equity, Swaps, Options and Futures.

• Overseas experience would be a plus.

• Ambitious individuals, looking for a challenging role to build an organization of the coming year..

• Adaptable and culturally aware. Experience of working in a global environment preferable.

• Strong knowledge / experience of front to back Investment Banking environment (trade capture to balance sheet)

• Strong knowledge / experience of Derivatives Products.

• Experience of operating at a senior level with decision making capabilities, including management of large teams and / or projects.

• Proven ability to, own and develop successful relationships with front office and/or external clients

• Strong communication and people management skills

• Strong team player with integrity

• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritizes responsibilities, and escalates issues as necessary.

• Excellent command of the English language

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, strong Word and Excel skills required

• Prepared to travel

Qualifications:

Preferably qualified Chartered Accountant or MBA.
