AVP – Functional Risk Analyst recruitment
Main Function
Provide support to the Head of Functional Risk Management to provide operational risk expertise and support to the Sourcing team globally across UK, US, Africa, Asia and Europe
Main Duties
Governance and Policy Compliance (40%)
- Become conversant with the requirements of the Group Policies relevant to Sourcing to provide advice and guidance to the teams in Sourcing, e.g. records management, BCM, Logical Access Management.
- Maintain the matrix of policy champions making sure when anyone leaves an alternate is nominated. Escalate to Head of FRM if any gaps in the network remain unfilled.
- Maintain a schedule of communications for relevant group policies to ensure that Sourcing colleagues are provided with guidance at regular intervals. Working with Head of FRM deliver these communications using various media such as Intranet, targeted emails, lunch and learns.
- Monitor the dispensation and waivers log and ensure that before they reach their expiry date they are formally closed, or extended, with appropriate approvals. Monitor remediation against action plans. Escalate any items which are not progressing to the Head of FRM.
- Compile reports and statistics for reporting the Management Team showing how well Sourcing conforms to applicable Group policies.
- Support the compilation of accurate attestations of compliance with group policies to be submitted to group key risk owners as requested, covering all Sourcing teams in all countries.
- Co-ordinator for Sourcing assisting with developing and maintaining the Sourcing strategy, plan and testing.
- Regularly review Principal Risk and Controls (PRC) team LAN to ensure the team complies with Records Management policy. Work with colleagues in PRC to delete non-relevant records and archive relevant records on a timely basis.
Risk and control assessment (30%)
- Assist with the facilitation of risk and control assessments by documenting the key risk themes, control effectiveness, potential impacts, and mitigating actions across complex issues and major change programmes. Monitor and maintain the Sourcing RCA to ensure it remains compliant with Group OR policy.
- Monitor project risk logs ensuring large change projects manage risk throughout the lifecycle of the project and that any residual open risks at project close down are added the functions RCA and signed off by the CPO.
- Maintain oversight and quality assurance routines for management self assessment processes to ensure key controls operate as prescribed.
- Maintain log of IBAMs owned by PRC, ensuring action plans are delivered and overdue actions are escalated.
- Provide summary and comprehensive risk reporting information to the CPOs and the management team.
Oversight of Audit Findings Management Process (25%)
- Maintain a log of open audit findings relating to external Suppliers. Work with KRO team to track progress through to closure and escalate any the may go overdue to the Head of FRM.

Person Requirements
Knowledge/Expertise
Essential
- Understanding of control frameworks and operational risk requirements
- Risk and control techniques e.g. risk assessment, risk mitigation, risk management, risk event management
Preferred
- Knowledge of the Bank’s products, services and policies
- Some knowledge of operational risk principles
- Some knowledge of governance, risk, control and assurance drivers / requirements across at least one risk types
Experience
- Experience in a financial services business
Previous ‘risk’ experience is preferable
