AVP Internal Auditor, Credit Risk
This role will be responsible for leading and delivering audits across a diverse credit portfolio and will be responsible for all areas of the Bank including Corporate Commercial, Retail and Wholesale Credit Portfolios. This will include reviewing the performance, quality of the assets involved and the respective impairment estimation where necessary.
The position has excellent visibility of the full Credit life cycle and the entire UK Credit Risk function working with a network of senior stakeholders. You’ll be involved in the effective delivery of audits and coaching more junior auditors, providing support towards their development.
As a Credit Risk Auditor your skills and qualifications will include:
- A strong understanding of credit portfolios with the Corporate and / or Commercial segment, with a good understanding of risk and control.
- Strong analytical skills including the use of Excel to analyse large data sets.
- Excellent communication skills, able to build compelling business cases, and adapt style in order to gain buy in.
- Able to persuade using a range of styles, and seeking win-win outcomes.
- Excellent written skills with previous experience preparing proposals, reports or business cases.
- Ability to develop and facilitate effective business relationships at all levels.
- The ability to work effectively in an evolving and challenging environment.
- Degree qualified or a professional qualification in a relevant subject is preferred.
As a Credit Risk Auditor your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and participating in internal audit reviews to assess the management and control of risk.
- Management of small teams, providing coaching and support to team members where required.
- Involvement in all aspects of the audit from planning, identification of key risks and coordination of fieldwork, through to drafting of recommendations and reporting.
- Ensuring that all audits meet internal audit plan timescales and comply with quality requirements.
- Managing relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
