AVP Level – Quant Research – Systematic High Frequency Trading – eFX – London c.£150-2250,000 recruitment
I am representing a world class Bank that is looking to hire an AVP level Quant Researcher within their e-trading FX team in London. It is expected that this is will be a relatively junior hire for them (PhD/Post Doc level candidates without prior finance experience will also be considered). The role will involve a combination of research based activity such as the analysis of large datasets, in order to improve client pricing + hedging as well as, supporting the trading desk and optimising algorithm performance and the like. It is also expected that you will work on high-frequency pricing and hedging algorithms within their systematic FX trading unit.
The skills needed for this position are a hybrid mix of Mathematics Technology combined with an interest in genuine interest in finance and research capability.
Technology: object orientated languages such as Java or C++ to a production level standard. Algorithm implementation. Experience of Matlab or R would be a plus.
Mathematics: Solid grounding in general numerical analysis and modelling techniques. Knowledge of; applied statistics, data mining, pattern recognition, time series analysis probability etc.
Finance: You must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in financial markets whether it’s theoretical or otherwise. Knowledge of order book market microstructure would be massive advantageous too.
Academics: This group pick from the top universities worldwide and expect to see a strong undergraduate degree classification 2.1 above with a Masters or PhD. Science, Mathematics or Engineering disciplines ideally. Post Doc Research or Research laboratory experience is also a plus.
Whilst this is a research position it will suit individuals from more of a practical or applied background rather than a theoretical one. This is a front office job that requires strong communication skills a natural client facing ability.
