AVP, Leverage Finance Underwriter, Bulge Bracket Bank

Main Function

• Overseeing the execution and ongoing asset management of loan facilities being booked by Global Loans New York

• Assisting and most often leading the closing of complex leveraged finance transactions wherein Leverage Finance Underwriting acts as Agent, working closely with the Execution team and utilizing substantial discretion, flexibility and judgment given each deal has a different structure with various elements and tranches

• Where the firm acts as Lender, executing the close of transactions from start to finish, engaging with Loan Operations to ensure they are properly positioned and informed for each transaction; running administrative agencies independently with some consultation

• Conducting ongoing financial analysis and preparing quarterly financial reports required for certain Leveraged Finance borrowers

• Handling of routine operational support, syndicate coordination etc.

• Executing loan documents, where authorized

• Negotiating with Borrowers, Risk Management and Legal Counsel on amendments and modifications to loan transactions ; interpreting and reviewing these changes with a mind that each deal has a distinct structure

• Facilitating the overall business process by settling assignments and clarifying transactions to various internal groups, external investors and clients; recommending solutions where possible and appropriate

• Having responsibility for a distinct portfolio of loan facilities

Basic Qualifications

Candidate should have the following skills:

• Bachelors degree

• Four or more years work experience in the Loans space

• Series 7 and 63

• While this is required for the job, it may be obtained after joining.

• Working knowledge of the loan documentation and loan trade settlement process

• Good understanding of the main regulatory, fiscal and legal parameters governing the loan business

• Ability to work with a fair amount of discretion given the fluidity of the loan transaction process, which is not consistent from deal to deal

• Communication skills, both oral and written, are required to successfully meet objectives set within the job responsibilities; contacts will range from clerical to senior management, both within the Firm and outside

• Trained in or working knowledge of financial analysis

• Demonstrated capability to negotiate, document and close loan transactions

• Industry specific knowledge a plus
