AVP Operational Risk Manager for a leading Global Investment Bank recruitment
Main Responsibilities:
- Promoting an appropriate culture of awareness of and attention to operational risk throughout the bank.
- Building strong relationships with relevant business areas to be aware of business developments and their impact on the operational risk profile.
- Building strong relationships to work with operational risk colleagues in other locations.
- Facilitating Risk and Control Self-Assessments by Risk Owners. This will include running risk assessment workshops with various business areas and support functions, and consolidating the results into operational risk maps.
- Defining and interpreting Key Risk Indicators. This will include working with relevant risk owners to ensure appropriate action is taken for remediating any red threshold breaches
- Collecting and analysing operational incidents to ensure that relevant lessons are learnt; agreed action plans monitoring and escalating the issues to the management attention when necessary.
- Proactively seeking out ways to improve the operational risk framework.
- Working with risk owners to help them improve the way that operational risks are managed.
- Providing input into the reporting to management on the operational risk profile and incident experience of the bank.
- Assisting in the preparation of risk reports to management, ensuring accurate representation of the risk profile based on incident experience and other indicators.
- Oversee the evolution of the International OR framework in line with the implementation of AMA.
- Contribute to the evolution of the op risk capital approach, currently in line with the ICAAP methodology. Develop stress scenarios and other assessments to support the methodology.
- Assisting with the development of economic capital models and ensure a fit for purpose AMA framework, incorporating risk transfer / mitigation techniques.
