AVP Operations – Regional Control Manager recruitment
Due to a planned development of the operational control framework within APAC my client is looking to hire an experienced individual ideally with a strong knowledge of both Investment banking Operational Controls and Operational Risk/Audit ideally with a broad product coverage. This role will act as the first line of defence for the IB Operational Risk function by being embedded within the Operations department. You will have full responsibility for performing this function across the APAC region. Interpreting and communicating developments in internal policy to Operations management you will be responsible for driving required operational change in order facilitate compliance with Internal policy.
Responsibilities of Operations Control Role
- Translate the Operational risk agenda on behalf of the Operations function for the APAC region, understanding and communicating policy
- Conduct Control reviews across the various operations business units in the region identifying control gaps and weaknesses
- Project managing required operational system and process change to rectify issues
- Devising and Producing MI for Senior Business and Operational Heads
- SOX co-ordination for the region
- Understanding and communicating internal policy changes
Requirements to be a suitable candidate
- Ideally previous Operational Control experience within an Investment Banking business
- If not then Audit or Operational risk candidates with experience in an Investment bank will also be suitable
- 7+ years relevant experience
- A sound knowledge across a broad range of Investment banking products, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives etc
- Proven ability to build relationships across a business and utilizing the strength of those relationships to enable and manage change
- Strong communication skills
