AVP – Product Control Business Analyst (Finance) recruitment

Our client, a leading global investment bank, currently seeks a Business Analyst, to be based in London

The Assistant Vice President will be part of the Product Control Team and will be responsible for:
-Responsibility for developing a good understanding of the strategic platforms used by the business and how risk and PnL attribution reports are generated. This experience will be gained by working on various projects assigned.
-Hands-on business analysis of requirements, devising technical solutions, building solutions, creating/running/coordinating test cases to project managing a release.
-Understanding the financial products, their setup on the current IT platform and their unique features.
-Creating and maintaining strong working relationships with the team's clients and partners.
-Providing support to the Front Office on daily issues - this will include troubleshooting problems arising on an ad-hoc basis.
-Working with stakeholders, including IT, traders and finance to (i) migrate trades / books, (ii) release new functionality.

As such, the successful AVP Business Analyst will have the following skills and experience:
-A number of years experience in the Product Control (Risk and PL) domain, ideally within credit or exotics rates derivatives area.
-A good understanding of how Risk and PnL Attribution is calculated.
-Experience of delivering change or improvements to processes.
-A strong professional presence, to be able to liaise effectively with all key stakeholders, understand their perspectives and build relationships quickly.
-Degree educated in a numerate subject.
-Experience of working in a global team working with colleagues and clients in multiple worldwide locations.
-An appreciation of the mechanics of financial engineering.
-A good understanding of technology and how technology is used to solve business problems.
-A working knowledge of VBA, SQL or other programming skills.
-A working knowledge how financial products are priced using models.
