AVP, Product Controller recruitment
Role Responsibilities:
• Validating and controlling the PL results from offshore production.
• Provide high quality support to the business to assist new business initiatives and structured trades, new trade types, document and provide writes up on structured trades.
• Develop and manage relationships with other key areas of the bank, including risk and the front office.
• Review of Independent Price Verification results.
• Ongoing review of the adequacy, suitability and accuracy of reserves, coordinating with business and other stakeholders as necessary.
• Implement changes if necessary to suit the market/book changes.
• Proactively assist and drive the transformation process. Ensuring the complete transition of the team.
• Coordinating as necessary with the offshore centres, business and other stakeholders to ensure the bank is able to comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Candidate Requirements:
• Degree (Mathematics/Science/Finance preferred). Accountancy Qualifications: ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Business / product control experience ideally within Credit, Rates or Equity Derivatives.
• Control focused individual with an excellent attention to detail and ability to assess adequacy of control frameworks
• Ability to work to meet daily deadlines, multi-tasking and organised.
• Excellent communication skills as face off is to senior stakeholders in the business, finance and other control groups.
• Technical abilities: The controller needs to be credible at various technical levels: when speaking to traders about current and new products (New Product Approval process), or quants from the model approval team if necessary;
• Capable of explaining complex products/structures to junior team-members and raise their product awareness.
