Back Office Developer(s) recruitment
CRT Capital Group (CRT) provides security brokerage and research services to over 900 institutional accounts with established counterparty relationships around the world. The Firm caters to asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, hedge funds and investment firms with a focus on Equity and Fixed Income Securities. CRT, formerly known as Credit Research and Trading LLC, was founded in 1989 and employs approximately 260 individuals with a wide breadth and depth of industry knowledge.
As part of our ongoing efforts to build a scalable and “best in class” technology infrastructure, we have three immediate needs in our Information Technology Department for developers to support our Back and Middle Office Applications.
In this role, you will report to the Senior Vice President of Back and Middle Office Development and work to implement a wide range of applications designed to improve firm-wide operational efficiency and accountability.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with users across all business lines to understand their business needs and subsequently develop project plans and technical requirements.
- Actively participate in the execution of development projects in C# and Java.
- Resolve day to day production issues.
Requirements (3 different roles):
The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years in a similar position within a Financial Services organization and should have:
- Operations Developer- familiarity with developing real-time Back and Middle office types of applications (i.e. Static Data, Clearing, Funding, and Reconciliations).
- PL Developer- familiarity with developing real-time Back and Middle office types of applications (i.e. Clearing, Funding, Reconciliations, Compliance, General Ledger, Regulatory Reporting, and PL Reporting).
- Finance Developer- familiarity with an accounting system such as Great Plains or Oracle
Additionally, candidates should be comfortable in a hands-on development role, and have the ability to see a project through from inception to completion in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Candidates must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. There is a good amount of autonomy in this position and candidates should have strong judgment and decision making skills – the ability to multi-task and prioritize is critical to the success of this role.
Technical Skills:
Programming Languages: Java, C#, and SQL
Technologies: Spring, Pub Sub Messaging, and JMS/NMS
Additional:
- Operations: Should have experience building real time position and transaction feeds. Understanding of mortgage backed products is required. Any experience with Broadridge Impact or MBS Expert is a plus.
- Finance: Familiarity with basic fixed income accounting and products. Experience working with a general ledger posting engine. Working knowledge of Great Plains or Oracle General Ledger a plus.
- PL: Any experience with Broadridge Impact and PL reporting is a plus.
