An opportunity to join a fast paced front office profit team optimising the £300bn SANUK balance sheet. BSM protects PL through deploying hedging strategies designed to minimise risk and cost. The BSM team works closely with Risk, Finance, and the Execution team in ALM, to ensure that the Net Interest Income of the bank remains within acceptable levels of interest rate risk and achieves budgeted returns

As Balance Sheet Management Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Advanced Knowledgeable of financial markets (money markets, fixed income) and financial instruments (interest rate swaps, basis swaps, basis fixings, caps/floors swaptions, straddles and strangles).
- Proficient in treasury accounting treatments (Accrual, Available for Sale and Mark to Market) and processes (hedge accounting relationships, de-designation and MTM amortisation).
- Expert in the use of fixing income pricing tools (Bloomberg Swap Manager)
- Advanced knowledge of Wall Street andMurex
- Highly competent in Excel and PowerPoint
- ALM, Trading or Finance background.
- Knowledge of front office systems and processes across ALM and the Commercial Bank desired
- Ability to influence, motivate and convince.
- Thorough attention to detail. Must be accurate at all times.
- Capacity to work under aggressive deadlines; values teamwork and partnering.
- Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across all Banking Divisions and at all levels
- Ability to work independently. Must show strong initiative to proactively find solutions to requirements.
- Able to build up working relationships quickly with key stakeholders.
As Balance Sheet Management Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
- Deputise to the Head of Balance sheet Management to include attendance at senior committees and interaction with the wider Executive team.
- Scrutinise Fixed Income markets, oversee current proposals and provide regular insights and unique arbitrage opportunities.
- Develop inter year Income Management techniques through selective hedging of interest rate exposures.
- Manage and develop modelling in Excel for identification and quantification of structural and basis risk.
- Calculation of portfolio mark to markets and interpretation of yearly PL impacts within accounting framework.
- Challenge and Supervise risk metric's (Market Value of Equity, Net Interest Margin and Value at Risk).
- Question and challenge re-pricing gaps to ensure accurate interest rate risk assessment of the balance sheet.
