POSITION: BANK CREDIT CARD RISK ANALYST

***MUST HAVE BANKING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE***
POSITION IS NOT ONLY FOCUSED ON CREDIT CARDS, WILL BE INVOLVED IN RISK ANALYTICS FOR ALL CONSUMER BANK PRODUCTS – HOME MORTGAGE, HOME EQUITY, VEHICLE LENDING, CREDIT CARDS ETC.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops all risk management policies for account underwriting, initial credit line assignment, and ongoing risk management activities
- Assists in the development of risk criteria for marketing programs, products offered, and portfolio profiles
- Coordinates marketing activities in order to target and capture profitable customers
- Develops reporting for credit card losses and profitability through use of account management systems
- Works with statistical modeling group to develop and implement decision models and tools where appropriate
- Forecasts delinquencies and losses to support provisioning and all other risk management processes
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION?
- Assists in the development of financial justification for investments (marketing programs, equipment, etc.)
- Applies basic understanding of financial institutions and products
- Participates on project teams. May occasionally lead a project or portions of a project
- Works with minimal guidance and may have some latitude for independent decisions/recommendations
- Uses extensive knowledge of quantitative disciplines and programming
- May train, mentor, and provide peer-level oversight
ITEMS OF NOTE
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Minimum two years experience working in an analytical role within the Banking industry
Experience with one or more retail lending products: auto loans, credit cards, home equity, and mortgage
Previous credit risk experience preferred
Bachelors in quantitative background required. Masters preferred
Minimum two years programming experience in SAS
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to translate analysis into recommendations to help satisfy risk and financial objectives
Strong knowledge of quantitative risk management techniques
Development of reporting to track the performance of risk management policies and strategies
Understanding of underwriting criteria and credit bureau data
Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills
Ability to present and simplify complex information into easily comprehended presentations and reports
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with peers and business partners
