A2F Consulting is a fast-growing consulting company offering advisory services to the financial sector in emerging markets and developing countries. We started our operations in 2007 and have carried out assignments in over 25 countries across all regions. We are involved in management consulting and economic consulting. Our largest consulting projects are currently in East Asia, Central Asia and Africa.
In addition to advisory services, A2F Consulting is also managing a private equity fund providing equity capital and management services for the transformation of microfinance institutions and bank downscaling in Africa. Our investors are among the largest private investment funds in microfinance.
A2F Consulting is now expanding its services in the area of financial sector supervision and systemic stability. We are currently carrying out a large program to strengthen the financial sector safety net in two emerging market countries and are seeking to increase our core consulting team accordingly. We are looking to leverage our current in-house expertise with exceptionally qualified bank examiner(s), who share our passion for international development and the excitement of working in a young dynamic company. Our compensation package is competitive.
Responsibilities Tasks
- Provide training and advisory services to public and private sector clients on financial sector policy and supervision, risk management, audit etc.
- Help build “systemic crisis management” and “crisis preparedness” as core competencies
- Carry-out bank evaluations and due diligence reviews on behalf of our clients
- Team leadership and oversight of client engagements (from proposal writing to final report)
- Proactively support business development including the regular review of procurement notices by international development agencies and preparation of project / investment proposals
- Knowledge management as well as training and coaching of junior team members
Qualifications
- An advanced degree, such as an MSc, MBA, or PhD in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or IT from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years work experience with a banking supervision agency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or a similar entity
- Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines as team member as well as task manager
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills; strong financial modeling skills would be a plus
- Outstanding client management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Working knowledge of a foreign language (especially Spanish) would be a plus
- Willingness to travel extensively and work in a multicultural environment
