Role Description

This is a great time to join the Finance Change team, Americas at Deutsche Bank; the team has grown from approximately 16 people to 60+ over the past 18 months and is actively involved in a number of regional and Global projects, the largest of which is the Strategic Reporting Information Delivery (Stride) program. Stride is an ambitious multi-year, front to back initiative, sponsored by the Group Chief Financial Officer, with visibility at Board level. It is the largest and most ambitious program Deutsche Bank finance has embarked upon and involves multi disciplinary teams, including finance, Information Technology (IT), risk and global business services. The Stride program provides finance, IT, risk and operations professionals the opportunity to deliver fundamental change in the way financial reporting and risk is managed across the bank.

In addition to Stride, Finance Change is heavily involved with the delivery of many Regulatory Reform projects driven principally from the Dodd Frank Act and provides the overall Global Investment Governance PMO for the Global Regulatory Reform book of work.

The Finance Change group is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting, senior Program Director, to program manage and lead our Bank Regulatory Reporting Program. This is a high profile, top priority, multi-year, cross functional program within the US Regulatory Reform CFO Book of Work. The successful candidate must be able to work independently while actively participating in a dynamic, global/regional team.

Program management harnesses the cross functional areas to create and drive a solution which delivers within project constraints (time, resource, functionality and cost). This is accomplished through capabilities in leadership, management, planning, facilitation, negotiating/influencing, team building, and issue resolution.

The program manager owns the overall schedule. This requires constant management of scope and resources while being able to anticipate and handle the unexpected. A key aspect of the role is the facilitation of frequent cross-functional team communication and negotiation while driving through critical decisions.

It is important to emphasize that this role will likely have a small team of direct reports, but a large and diverse virtual team, involved in delivering the program. Mature and seasoned leadership is essential.

Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate a track record in program managing complex projects within the financial services arena.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate and manage cross functional teams comprised of analysts, project managers, domain and engineering experts.

• Facilitates joint project/program planning, tracking and progress with all major stakeholders.

• Participate to the required level to ensure project plans, resource plans, budgets and forecasts are created and maintained to the necessary level of detail.

• Drive the cross functional teams to deliver successful outcomes in line with the project objectives, success criteria and project standards of DB.

• Form strong relationships with all cross functional areas.

• Keep all stakeholders informed of progress/issues in a timely and effective manner.

• To not be “an order taker”; this role requires the ability to think in real-time and to not have a one size fits all approach to project/program delivery.

 Skills Experience

• Minimum of fifteen years experience working within the profession of Program Management within the Financial Services arena.

• The last seven or more years working within a global company as a senior (hands-on) program manager with end to end responsibility and accountability for a portfolio of complex projects (mix of global and regional).

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Proven track record of leading and managing multiple projects (global and regional) while having direct involvement in all phases of the project lifecycle.

• Excellent problem analysis and creative solution capabilities.

• Ability to work independently, be a self starter and to be a global team player.

• Strong leadership, management, planning, negotiating and issue resolution capabilities.

At Deutsche Bank, we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action (M/F/D/V) employer.
