Banking Assistant, Dushanbe recruitment
Role Overview
Banking Assistant role - Fixed Term contract for 23 month based in Dushanbe. The Banking Assistant will primarily assist the Resident Office's (RO) corporate sector bankers, covering ICA (Industry, Commerce Agriculture). The role will focus on providing high quality support to the portfolio monitoring team to effectively monitor existing transactions; Assist RO bankers on various aspects of business development and the winning, negotiation, closing and disbursement of new transactions; and provide secretarial cover to up to four bankers. It is expected that the time allocation will be approximately 70% to the role of Banking Support and 30% to Secretarial, depending on the needs of the RO.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Banking Support
- Assist in project monitoring (prepare monitoring reports, keep track of and review the clients' financial, project and other reporting, and follow up client's covenant compliance).
- Maintain DTM entries and assisting with PMM preparation
- Provide administrative support in monitoring of projects and assist with disbursements, procurement and project reporting.
- Follow up on late payments from clients
- Assist bankers in generating new leads and setting up client meetings.
- Undertake research on regions, companies, and projects - focused on the ICA business sector.
- As requested, assist in the organisation of signing ceremonies, workshops, seminars and similar events.
- Attend and contribute to regular internal meetings - including but not limited to the regular marketing meetings.
- Attend client meetings and complete and file succinct back to office reports.
- Support bankers in the approval process, contribute as requested to the preparation of information / memoranda for OpsCom etc
- Assist with the preparation of project related material.
- Provide regular collation of the portfolio/pipeline information such as tenor, price, private/state, syndications, equity/loan etc.
- Collate statistical portfolio/pipeline/disbursements data for the RO management as and when needed for strategy, presentations or other reporting.
- Prepare, review and maintain the ICA deal list for RO (signing dates, amounts, core and pipeline projects) in liaison with the OLs, in respect of business plan tracking.
- Maintain Project Reference Filing System for RO to ensure easy retrieval of documents (to be coordinated with respective secretaries) - Projectlink filing system.
Secretarial:
Provide secretarial support for certain bankers in the RO. Provide high quality support and assistance including but not limited to the following:
- Co-ordinating diaries
- Making travel arrangements
- Arranging meetings
- Supporting in terms of the preparation of documentation - letters / presentations, filing etc

Essential Skills, Experience Qualifications
- Higher education or relevant qualification from a specialised college is desirable
- Fluent English, Russian and Tajik both written and spoken.
- Computer literate / good basic excel - financial modelling skills
- Good numerical skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work with precision and accuracy
- Good communication skills, including a pleasant and efficient telephone manner
