Position Description:
The Conflicts Manager will be a member of the Firm's Global Conflicts Office (GCO) in Firm Management, and will be responsible for reviewing and addressing potential conflicts of interest. The role will interface with senior BU members in the Institutional Securities, Investment Management and Wealth Management businesses, and other areas of the Firm; like Legal and Compliance, Internal Audit and Risk Management.

Conflicts can occur when there is a divergence of interests between Morgan Stanley and a client, among clients, or between an employee on the one hand, and Morgan Stanley or a client on the other hand.

Examples of each would be:

• Client / Firm: Performance of multiple roles with respect to a client and/ or transaction (e.g., advisor, underwriter, lender, principal counterparty, derivative counterparty).
• Client / Client: Clients interested in acquiring the same company or asset.
• Employee Conflicts: Personal trading or outside business interests that could raise potential conflicts with a client or the Firm.

Morgan Stanley has a conflicts management architecture which ensures that potential conflicts are identified, reviewed and handled appropriately. The Firm's Global Conflicts Office is charged with overseeing our conflicts management processes, as well as the handling of specific transactions. The regional Conflicts Managers will play an important role in this process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Overseeing the Conflicts Management System regionally.
• Facilitating resolution of potential transactional conflicts, liaising closely with all BUs and LCD, and interfacing with the other regional Conflict Managers in the GCO Office.
• Responding to conflicts-related queries/ providing interpretations to BUs.
• Focusing on thematic conflicts issues, and working with the BUs to address those issues on a dynamic basis.
• Liaising regularly with the GCO and relevant constituents to assess relevant conflict policies and adherence with those policies.
• Working with IT to identify and resolve conflict system issues, as well as recommending system enhancements and assisting in their implementation.

Skills Required:
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent); preferably in law, finance or business.
• Work experience at a financial institution or law firm, preferably with familiarity of financial services legal and business issues.
• Excellent presentation and relationship management skills.
• Ability to work as a team player, as well as independently.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Adept at working in a fast-paced, high energy and dynamic environment.
