Responsiblilies:
Our Boston office is seeking an experienced commercial banker familiar with the New England marketplace to help drive growth in our middle market Boston Corporate Banking Group. This is a great opportunity for someone with significant lending experience and a strong professional network in the market to demonstrate both your marketing and credit skills in managing and growing the group’s portfolio of premier private middle market companies. We are also open to candidates with networks in additional markets (i.e. New York, Connecticut, Chicago, etc).
The banking professional will be a key member of a team dedicated to developing BBH’s corporate banking business in New England. The position requires a motivated and organized self-starter who possesses superior verbal and written communication skills along with a professional network in the market. The ideal candidate must have a superior understanding of accounting, finance, and credit structuring, be computer literate in standard MS Office applications, and be able to handle multiple tasks/projects under tight time constraints.
The individual will work as the primary officer on several existing credit relationships, but their primary responsibility will be executing a business development plan to establish new corporate banking relationships with premier private middle market companies. The person will need to be seen by clients, referral sources, prospects, and colleagues as a consultative trusted advisor who is able to deliver the entire suite of BBH products, from senior loans and MA advisory services, to private wealth management.
Banking professionals at BBH will have significant exposure to clients and senior management and Partners. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
• Full range of business development activities, including building and cultivating referral networks, direct calling on companies, and complete knowledge of the firm’s capabilities and products.
• Provide day-to-day client relationship maintenance and administration, including written credit analysis for periodic credit meetings with bankers and Partners and presentations at credit meetings
• Due diligence and financial modeling for new and existing credit relationships
• Executive summaries of incoming new business opportunities
Qualifications:
• Strong organizational, and written/oral communication skills
• Interpersonal maturity, confidence, and poise
• Knowledge of and a base of contacts within the New England lending market.
• Proficiency in computer spreadsheets and presentation applications
• Ability to work independently in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong financial analysis/modeling skills
