Purpose of the job
• Supervise the Banking Products and Treasury Services Support team (BPTSS) to provide day-to-day operational support to the Asia dealing desks on matters relating to treasury deals and securities trades (structured derivatives products, bonds, equities, funds, etc).
• Perform a liaison role to bridge between Zurich office or counterparty and dealers/traders to help facilitate good dealing processing.
• Implement and maintain effective internal control system in the operating process to minimize the risk exposure of the dealing activities.
• Perform key control activities such as structured product asset codes creation, product term-sheet monitoring, market limit monitoring, trigger events monitoring and day-end trade reconciliation.
• Prepare client preliminary trade confirmation and additional trade confirmation.
• Perform monthly control and management reporting
• Keep abreast of new changes, new products and practices in various markets and be able to coach and guide team members.
• Provide back up for staff in the team and for other operational duties.
Principal Accountabilities
• Actively involve in the day-to-day processes to resolve workflow issues and/or problems solving relating to the support to the Asia dealing desks.
• Ensure the infrastructure, especially the control system, in the BPTS support function runs efficiency and effectiveness.
• Communicate with Asia dealing desks, Private Banking, Zurich Operations and relevant third parties to assist in executing complex or special transactions.
• Assist Line Manager in the implementation and writing of policies and procedures.
• Review/update procedural manuals and provide training to ensure Private Bankers are updated on the new/changes in process flow that impact on their client service delivery.
• Assist in the development, implementation, co-ordination and ongoing enhancement of new/existing products.
Scope / Dimensions
The Job holder’s key responsibility is to provide operational support to the Asia dealing desks on matters relating to treasury deals and securities trades and to implement and maintain effective internal control system in the operating process to minimize the risk exposure of the dealing activities. He/She will also provide backup support for other team members in the event of a planned or unplanned absence.
Key Role Requirements
- At least more than 5 years of experience in treasury middle office in Private Banking
- Fully knowledgeable of securities and treasury products and market procedures/practices
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Good communicator and team player
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to work well under pressure
- Ability to deal with staff at all levels of the organisation
- Strong PC literacy (MS Office, Spreadsheet and other PC applications)
