The MOTIF Solution Design team work across Operations, Product Control, Financial Control and IT with specific responsibilities of ensuring requirements across the organization are satisfied
To support future MOTIF roll out in APAC, the team requires an experienced business analyst to join the program to support derivatives roll out. The successful candidate will define, plan and perform analysis to inform ledger processing, data/ accounting transformation and data mapping for downstream data consumers on APAC specific roll outs. This will require interactions with PC, FC and Ops SMEs and the respective technology teams. The successful candidate will be based in London, and required to interact closely with the global team
About the Projects:
The MOTIF program is a strategic program of work to consolidate the sub-ledgers, PL processes, and business line balance sheet reporting across all asset classes globally onto a single infrastructure. This is a multi-year program with stakeholders across all areas in the Business, Finance, Operations and IT
The MOTIF program team is part of Finance Strategic Programs within the wider Enterprise Solution Technology organization. The team consists of change professionals with expertise across product control, operations, financial control and technology covering business analysis requirements, functional technical design, development, migration and testing.
About the team
The MOTIF Solution Design Team is uniquely positioned to support business analysis, requirements elicitation and functional requirements across Product Control, Operations and Financial Control and have key stakeholders throughout a broad cross section of operational functions.
The team is currently engaged in the following areas:
· MOTIF business roll out
· MOTIF functional enhancements
· Summit Decommission
Current focus is on Fixed Income Rates and Credit Derivatives business roll out followed by FX, Commodities and Loans.
This is a growing team, with 10 (London), 4 (New York) and 1 (Singapore) with expansion planned for this year.
Main Function
- Work with the Release Manager to ensure execution of project life cycle tasks and analysis
Plan and perform analysis:
- Define approach and perform business analysis, document findings and present proposals; help design solutions in line with strategic vision of the program and firm
- Elicit and document business requirements, act as the interface between Ops line functions, Finance and technology
- Create quality business and functional requirements working closely with the Implementation and Technical Design teams
- Work with SMEs to validate business analysis/requirements, testing preparation and liaise with Ops users during user testing
- Act as the bridge between business and IT
- Develop test plan / test cases and execute test cases
- Identify and track issues, analyze and propose resolutions
- Assist with training, communication and education across PC, FC and Operations
Person Requirements
Education/Qualifications:
- Strong Numeric/Engineering Degree
- Qualified or part qualified accountant advantageous
Essential:
- Proven business analysis and problem solving skills within investment banking
- Solid experience in data and requirement analysis / documentation and testing
- Experience of working on systems related change projects within an investment bank
Personal Interpersonal Skill
- Ability to assimilate information quickly
- Ability to define analysis approach, conclude and summarize findings
- Ability to plan, prioritize and execute their own workload efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision
- Strong team player. Experience in working in a virtual team
- Proactive in identifying control gaps, defining resolution through to closure
- Self starter, with the ability to hit the ground running
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to partner and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders from various areas of
Operations and more broadly across the organization
- Good organizational and time management skills
Business Skills
- Good understanding of investment banking, and the industry sector
- Good understanding of front to back finance and operational process flows
- Working knowledge of a reconciliation and controls function
- Experience of working with ledgers/accounting data in investment banking.
- Working knowledge of at least one asset class
Technical Skills
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite including visio, and project
- Experience uses Enterprise Architect
Preffered Skill:
- Experience of large multi-year Sub-ledger implementation/ accounting system implementation projects
- Strong understanding of multiple key asset classes accounting principals
Operational experience in a Product Control/ Finance function
