Barclays Corporate summer internship programme

Starting 25th June 2012, this eight-week programme will see you take on a real role, becoming an important member of a team within one of the following business areas:

With support from your own mentor, you’ll also complete your own special project, presenting the results to a panel of senior managers at the end of the programme.

By the end of your internship, you will have developed a broad range of valuable new skills and experience. If you perform well, we may also offer you a position on one of our full-time programmes when you graduate.

Rewards and benefits

In return for your contribution, we’ll offer you a competitive salary as well as several colleague benefits. In addition to this, there is plenty of recognition for successful group projects and individual achievements.

Locations

You could find yourself working anywhere across our network of offices in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

You will be placed according to the needs of the business at the time, as well as your individual development requirements. Wherever you’re based, you can be sure of high profile and challenging work that will stand out as making a difference to our organisation – and our clients.

We will also take into account any circumstances that might prevent you from being able to move into a particular role or location, and where possible will make any reasonable adjustments needed to find a solution that suits both you and the business.

Additionally, you should be expecting to achieve a 2.1 degree (or equivalent). This can be in any discipline. You must also have passed GCSE English and Maths at grades A–C (or equivalent). We’re also looking for people with some practical work experience under their belt.

Beyond this, you should be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following competencies:

If you are unsure about your work status please visit the UK border agency website at ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk

* There are some non-profit organizations (e.g. BUNAC) that support non UK based students to acquire work experience in UK. Some of these organizations may also be able to help you secure work visas for the period of the work experience in UK. Barclays Corporate has no direct association with these establishments and cannot help with the processes and costs that arise from the scheme but will accept applications from non UK based candidates who can organize a work visa through these schemes.
