Robotics Technician:

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: 
Possess a thorough knowledge of robot programming and motion planning. 
Will be competent with most robotic manufacturer's equipment (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Nachi). 
Experienced in the use of robot simulation and offline programming software
Possess the ability to set up I/O structure, robot start-up, and devicenet networks. 
Responsible for all programming activities as well as directing robotic tasks to completion. 
Participate in meetings for tooling design and development and work with the applications group. 
Possess a thorough overall understanding of welding (mig, spot, and resistance) and the ability to set up and perfect weld schedules. 
Responsible to help direct all project activities and assist others (controls, electrical, mechanical and project management) through to project completion 
Responsible for managing hours of work performed against budgets assigned to the project. 

Education: 
Bachelor degree or diploma in Robotics, or related field of study and/or equivalent industry experience. 

Controls Specialist:

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: 
Program PLC’s and HMI’s in an automotive automation environment utilizing: 
Allen Bradley Controllogix and SLC based programming software; 
Allen Bradley HMI development software; 
Siemans Step 7 based PLC programming software; 
Siemens Win CC Flexible based HMI development software; 
Troubleshoot complex automation; 
Coordinate with other disciplines to streamline delivery; 
Develop efficient means and standards to ensure budgets and schedules are met; and 
Validate system safeties function as designed. 

Education: 
Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist/Technician (BSc., P. Eng., or CET.) 

Experience: 
Minimum 3 years direct working experience; 
Working knowledge of Safety PLC Systems and Safety Standards; 
Working knowledge of communication networks (Devicenet, Ethernet IP, RIO, Profibus); 
Direct experience with robot integration and understanding of robot programming; 
Direct experience with multiple process types (Assembly, MIG Welding, Spot Welding); and 
Direct experience with safety circuit design. 

 

Electrical Designer:

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: 
Design Automated PLC control systems using Autocad Electrical and Eplan incorporating equipment from manufacturers such as Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron. 
Provide design documentation including: 
Component specifications and approval based on customer requirements. 
Safety Architecture and plan layouts for safety audit purposes. 
Safety calculations for light curtain areas as well as safety network response times. 
Load calculations on power distribution panels, control power supplies as well as resistance and mig weld systems. 
Provide Bill of Materials based on system design. 
Assist with floor level support during build with respect to design changes. 
Coordinate with other disciplines to streamline delivery. 
Develop efficient means and standards to ensure budgets and schedules are met. 
Validate system safeties function as designed. 

Education: 
Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist/Technician (BSc. P. Eng. or CET.) 

Experience: 
Minimum 5 years direct working experience. 
Good understanding of other project disciplines (i.e. Fluid Power, Mechanical Design). 
Working knowledge of PLC architecture including discrete and remote I/O. 
Working knowledge of communication networks (Devicenet, Ethernet IP, RIO, Profibus). 
Working knowledge of Autocad software with Acad Electrical preferred. 
Capable of performing load calculations for resistance welding, Mig welding and assembly production lines
Direct experience with control reliable circuits and Safety PLC Systems and knowledge of the applicable safety standards with respect to automated equipment.
