Basel II Risk Manager recruitment
Our client is a Middle Eastern bank which offers a wide range of customized products and services across the Gulf region. In their continuous effort to be the most recognized Islamic Bank in the world, they are currently looking to appoint a Basel II Risk Manager at their head office in Dubai.
Major Responsibilities:
- Set up a Basel II framework in the bank to collect database from different risk units and reconcile with the financials reported by the Finance
- Liaise with risk management units in defining the mechanism to move to advanced level of risk measurements as outlined by Basel II guidelines
- Aggregation of risks across the bank and clear understanding of the risk measures adopted by different units of risk management in the measuring, monitoring and controlling of various types of risks
- In-depth understanding of measurement of risk in the banking book, liquidity risk and concentration risk
- Have knowledge of Islamic banking products and its risk implications
- Work towards the development of Economic capital model for the bank and RAROC calculations at transaction level
- Develop a reporting mechanism to compute the risk weighted charges according to the UAE Basel II guidelines and liaise with Finance department in setting up the procedure to report to the UAE Central Bank
- Setup a risk reporting mechanism to define key risk indicators and produce those at regular intervals for the review of Senior management
- Perform continuous research on the Basel II and FSA guidelines on the risk management techniques and report findings accordingly
Requirements:
- Relevant Bachelors or Masters degree with 7 years of experience preferably in Basel II computations
- Candidates with FRM/PRM/CERA/CFA will be a plus
- Knowledge of Basel II guidelines on all three pillars
- Proficient in Credit Rating/Credit workflow/Basel II/Operational/Market Risk systems
- Able to work under pressure with a keen eye for detail
- Good report writing and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be fluent in English and Arabic
