Basel III Regulatory Analyst recruitment

My client, a leading investment bank, is seeking an experienced Basel III Regulatory Analyst to work within their Regulatory Reporting team's Capital Management support function.

The Capital Management support function is responsible for providing a liaison point between Treasury, Front Office, GFRM and Regulatory policy in capital management and budgeting for both the firm and individual business areas. Additionally, the team plays a key role in answering regulator requests and helping the firm manage with future Regulatory changes.

In this role you will work closely with the Front Office and your duties will include:
*Become a Basel III subject matter expert. Understand the drivers behind internal and external data requests or future rule changes in order to help the firm to manage themselves more efficiently.
*Produce data analysis for quantitative impact studies (QIS) and data requests relating to Basel III or other areas of interest for Regulators ensuring that all deadlines are met.
*Perform deep dives on specific businesses that are most impacted by future rule changes, providing key analysis to help those businesses understand the main drivers and how best to manage their RWAs. This will involve engagement with market risk and credit risk to understand the advanced calculators and explain tools.
*Identify opportunities in the above for capital optimisation, working across departments where appropriate.
*Get involved in impact analysis and help with the system development for the new rule changes, particularly in relation to the creation of expected results and the explanation of differences.

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with previous banking experience ideally with FSA regulatory reporting experience and/or experience in a capital management function with detailed understanding of technical regulatory rules. You will have a strong knowledge and understanding of upcoming Regulatory rule changes, particularly Basel III along with a strong appreciation for credit risk and market risk.

As the position will be working directly with Front Office, excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, particularly in relation to conveying complex issues in a straightforward and concise manner are required. You will have strong analysis skills, with the ability to summarise detailed analysis for senior management and external consumption.
