The Basel Model Manager has ownership from a business user perspective for all Corporate and Commercial portfolios and models. Working within the Corporate Credit team, this position will play a pivotal role in assisting the Head of Basel Model Management offering considerable exposure to senior stakeholders within the business.

As a Basel Model Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

* Being analytical with good problem solving skills;
* High degree of computer literacy and ability to analyse information using Excel, SAS or other programming/analysis tools;
* Good report writing skills;
* Ability to communicate in a confident and coherent manner and also to issue challenge when appropriate

As a Basel Model Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

* Stakeholder and project management to transform statistical models into risk decisioning tools;
* Taking a co-ordinating role in developing and implementing new, or adapting existing rating methodologies. Ensuring that the process is fully documented and assist with the validation and approval, both internally and externally, as required;
* Managing the annual model reviews as required and obtaining input from the relevant areas of the Group;
* Providing expert guidance to the rating conductors on any queries and user support;
* Assisting the Head of Basel Model Management in monitoring the quality of the ratings and the transfer of the data from the rating platform to the Basel Data Repository.

What we will be looking for in you:

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills as this role would involve liaising with senior stakeholders across the business on a daily basis. You will also need to demonstrate strong presentational skills as well as working on your own initiative to be successful in this role.

Location: Manchester with travel to London subject to business requirements, usually fortnightly or monthly.
