BCM Country Manager for SEA (VP) recruitment
ROLE SUMMARY:
This is a senior member in the APAC BCM Management Team, and scope includes providing BCM control and oversight for South East Asia (SEA).
Split between 4 main responsibilities:
- SEA BCM Country Manager and Crisis Management Lead (25%);
- SE Asia BCM Control Oversight Lead and Regional Control Oversight Support (25%);
- SEA Business Analyst PA SME (25%)
- SEA Testing Manager (25%). SE Asia is defined as Thailand (Bangkok), Malaysia (KL and Labuan), Indonesia (Jakarta) and the Philippines (Manila), covering the Branch Offices in these locations.
The Role
- Working closely with SEA Country Senior Management and business divisions to ensure CS offices in SEA have adequate BCP in place and are well-tested in line with the Global Credit Suisse BCM programme and satisfy local regulatory expectations;
- Act as the SE Asia BCM Control Oversight lead and provide support to the Regional Control Oversight program , with a principle focus in SE Asia on maintaining and improving the Crisis Management plans and taking the lead on all audit and regulatory matters. For Regional CO provide support on event specific contingency plans (Earthquake, Pandemic etc);
- Work with the business to ensure that SEA business impact analysis and business recovery plans for each location are set up according to Global Credit Suisse BCM Policy and Addendum and are up to date, according to policy. Act as the (detail tbc of which division) Business Division SME for the region, working closely with the Regional PA lead.
- Execute the SEA testing program, with support as required from the SE Asia Readiness team, ensuring that the documented recovery strategies are tested in line with the Global Credit Suisse BCM Policy and Addendum.
As part of the above key roles / responsibilities are:
- Leading and managing/coordinating the response to potential and actual crisis events that impact SEA business and the recovery of critical business. This includes proactive liaison with regional CRES, IT, businesses and BCM colleagues;
- In the event of a crisis event elsewhere in the region to support the Regional BCM head as the global/regional interface in drafting and communicating CMT updates
- Providing professional BCM advisory, training and support to business stakeholders to ensure key business continuity risks and issues are well understood and mitigated or risk-accepted;
- Act as the interface with the local Regulator and with Internal Audit in each SE Asia country on all Business Continuity matters;
- Supporting the Regional CO lead ensure all regional BCM country managers in Asia Pac have current and valid Country BCM Risk Assessments, Country-level Crisis Management Plans and scenario-specific contingency plans in place (e.g. Pandemic, Earthquake)
The role involves the following key deliverables:
SEA Business BCM Analyst Testing Manager, Regional Control Oversight Support.
The SEA BCM Role includes:-
- BCM program implementation and control oversight for SEA is in line with or exceeding the local regulatory and Global BCM Policy and Standards. This relates to both the existing sites in Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.
- SEA Country Crisis Management plans are up to date and regular training and tests are conducted to familiarize key staff members to respond and manage recovery in the event of a crisis situation.
- Works with business to ensure business recovery plans for critical business are in place and tested. 100% BIAs completed annually, BRPs reviewed in compliance with the policy and planning scope/expectation. Ensure smooth running of annual BCP/IT DR test and drafting and sign off of test reports.
- Performs country BCM risk analysis and strategic planning for each SEA Country. Ensure key risk areas are communicated to key stakeholders to improve risk transparency to business for proactive risk management and mitigation.
- Manage client and regulatory relationship proactively to ensure engagement and continued support for BCP.
- Conduct Training and awareness to heighten the knowledge and awareness of BCP across all business divisions in SEA. Class 1, 2 Plan owners, change managers, recovery team leaders briefed, trained on BCM tools and familiar with their recovery roles responsibilities every 12 months.
- Ensure SEA testing programs are up to date and robust. Work with SEA TIS Workspace managers to conduct annual/adhoc regulator and exchange required DR tests.
Additional duties and responsibilities
- Develop relationships with key clients across all business divisions in SEA
- Review any strategic changes in SEA and apply experience to identify/quantify/remediate potential impact to ongoing readiness
- Ensure good team collaboration and communication across PA , Readiness and CO streams within BCM.
- Remain flexible to support the wider team as required in the event of a crisis affecting other countries in the region.
Division/Department Overview
The Global BCM team reports into the IT COO organisation with matrix reporting to the Global Head of BCM, the Regional CIO and the Regional COO. The team is responsible for ensuring critical functions are continued following any major interruption across 4 defined Impact Types: Loss of Premises. Loss of IT, Loss of Staff and External Supplier. The team is responsible for three significant areas of focus: Planning and Preparation, Testing and Incident and Crisis Management
The BCM Country Manager provides cross divisional governance and coordination of all BCP matters for the allocated office locations, including ownership and coordination of the crisis management process.
