Description
Generally manage a team of between 5 and 10 staff members who provide complex service delivery for a set of sensitive and diversified BDS clients (Prime brokers, Agent lenders, hedge funds, Asset Managers, SPVs etc) and products such as securities clearing, tri-party collateral and derivatives management, prime custody, market data and contract management services etc. Provide leadership while managing and overseeing a daily operation for assigned area/functions in order to ensure that all daily requirements in servicing the client base are completed properly and timely. Serves as an escalation point for both internal and external stakeholders and ensures the attainment of all service requirements in accordance with agreed upon service standards, and BDS policies and procedures. Participates in delivering presentations on the BDS products, services, and strategic solutions and may engage in negotiations with clients and prospects as appropriate. Acts as a senior client advocate and coordinator for complex issues with all functional departments and related BNYM entities while also balancing the interests and requirements of the firm. Often identifies, implements, improves on the risk and control management framework within a high-risk operational environment. Has a stong understanding of credit risk scenarios linked to BDS products and interacts and explains complex scenarios with senior risk and credit personnel. Manages staff in scenarios of client default in a high stress environment. Ensures compliance with internal policy and external regulation, often across multiple countries. May assist in determining feasibility of new business and services regarding cost effectiveness and profitability. Participates in creating efficiencies, and streamlining workflows. May contribute to strategic planning and goal setting. Manages staff to ensure performance management, professional development, leadership, training, building staff talent, and employee engagement. Serves as a role model for the company's values.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. Master's Degree preferred. 7 to 10+ years of relevant experience in securities servicing including 4+ years in BDS or related company businesses and assigned functional area. 10+years of relevant experience in securities servicing including 7+ years in servicing one or more products within BDS and in assigned functional area preferred. Strong client, organisational, analytical and execution skills. Good communication, presentation, administrative, and computing skills. Strong management and leadership skills.
