Partner with International Benefits broker and International HR Managers on benefit program renewals

  • Review International benefit renewal results, ask clarifying questions when necessary and prepare final recommendations for leadership approval
  • Monitor International benefits regulatory changes along with legal to assure compliance at all times
  • Manage the maintenance and updating of the International Benefits data warehouse
  • Assist with International HR policy review and make recommendations based upon the global benefits strategy
  • Manage the ongoing administration of all U.S. and Canadian benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, FSA, life, disability, COBRA, and other programs
  • Ensure programs are administered in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Manage the annual 401k audit, non-discrimination testing and 5500 filing
  • Assist in identifying, planning, and developing methods and procedures to obtain greater benefits administration efficiency for the U.S. and Canada
  • Participate in the design and implementation of competitive benefit program offerings for delivery during U.S. annual open enrollment
  • Support merger and acquisition activities internationally
  • Respond to and resolve employee inquiries relating to enrollment, claims and related issues
  • Assist with the administration of employee leave programs including short-term and long-term disability, FMLA, and all other leaves
  • Assist with the management of Workers Compensation claims including the coordination with HR Business Partners and legal
  • Partner with Safety on the facilitation of work station accommodations
  • Conduct new employee benefits enrollment sessions for U.S. and Canada when necessary
  • Assists in preparing employee communications materials
  • Review and audit benefits invoices
  • Requirements:

  • Prior experience with International benefits program management

  • Solid understanding of benefit plan principles, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA and other domestic and global regulations related to benefits
  • At least 7 years experience in benefits administration
  • Prior experience with self-insured medical plans and wellness programs preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • PHR and/or CEBS certification or progress toward certification preferred
  • Prior knowledge of and experience with human resources principles, practices and legal requirements
  • Must be professional, detail oriented and high attention to accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and self motivated
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent follow through
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Able to assess costs, benefits, and risks of a decision while using sound logic to ultimately make well-informed decisions
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Professional and technical benefits knowledge
