My client are a global consultancy, BI Analytics service offerings are recognised as market leading. Their information management analytics team are rapidly expanding due to massive client demand, as a result we are looking for a Big Data Solutions Architect to join this high profile team.

Currently at 50+ specialists they are involved in a wide variety of projects across the information management and analysis spectrum. They have access to the latest tools and technology and a wide remit to use them on interesting work with clients whilst developing points of view and consulting propositions at the cutting edge of research and technology.

You will be responsible for guiding the full lifecycle of a Big Data solution, including requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing, and deployment. We are looking for candidates with a broad set of technology skills to be able to design and build robust Big Data solutions for big data problems and learn quickly as the platform grows.

Candidate Background
• Hands-on experience with the Big Data stack (e.g. SPARK, MapReduce, Hadoop, Sqoop, Pig, Hive, Hbase, Flume)
• Hands-on experience with the No-SQL (e.g. MongoDB, HBase, Cassandra)
• Hands-on experience with related/complementary open source software platforms and languages (e.g. Java, Linux, Apache, Perl/Python/PHP, Chef)
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g Informatica, Talend, Pentaho)
• Knowledge with BI tools and reporting software (e.g. Microstrategy, Cognos, Pentaho)
• Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as SAS, SPSS, R
• Previous experience with RDBMS technologies e.g. Teradata, Netezza, DB2, Oracle)
• Knowledge of NoSQL platforms Hadoop Eco-System No-SQL experience
• Strong experience managing a technical team
• Ability to support business development activities
