Our client is a San Francisco based Global Law firm we are recruiting for full time positions in the Dallas, TX regions.
SUMMARY:
As the Regional Desktop Support you will provide a variety of IT-related services to your region, including application and technical support, user training, equipment procurement and management and process development. You will be the liaison between the IT organization and your region ensuring that the offices and users in the region are receiving the products and services provided by the IT organization in a manner consistent throughout the Firm working closely with each Office Administrator in their region. The RSC carries a Blackberry and/or iPhone provided by the Firm for communication and escalation purposes as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support, set-up, training, and documentation of materials systems, including system design and modification, and ensuring functionality and ease of use for each office.
- Participate in a lead role during office openings, moves and upgrades, obtaining equipment necessary for each move in an efficient and cost effective manner, traveling to each site as necessary.
- Assist procurement and system users in determining system requirements to provide optimum system functionality and performance.
- Assist in the preparation of specifications, justification, development, testing, and implementation of software enhancements.
- Coordinate with San Francisco personnel to ensure all software licensing is appropriate for each office.
- Focus on service and performance for internal customers across all departments
- Direct requests for non Firm standard software to the appropriate San Francisco personnel for testing and approval before implementation.
- Provide proactive and timely input, suggestions, and feedback on process and system issues; take an active role in development and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Participate with IT to track and prioritize work on bugs, enhancements, testing and implementation of software upgrades
- Contribute to the improvement and upgrade of procedures, tools and other work methods.
- Participate in system meetings, workshops and presentations to management, clients, and project personnel as required.
- Travel to provide on-site support for national and state conferences as required.
- Travel to provide support in offices outside of assigned region as required.
- Provide supervision, guidance, mentoring, and training to end users and subordinates, including quality assurance in accordance with the Firm's policies and procedures regarding software, hardware and networks.
- Develop above-average knowledge of both materials systems and processes.
- Function as a liaison to IT related vendors.
- Coordinate management and maintenance of loaner laptops and projectors as appropriate in each office.
- Deliver and/or coordinate any of the above-mentioned services following all appropriate department policies and procedures. This includes issue reporting, tracking and resolution by utilizing the problem tracking and remote support tolls used by the Department.
- Maintain a current inventory of all IT related equipment for each office as designated by the IT Department.
- Maintain computer and printer asset tracking information for assigned offices.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Thorough knowledge of standard law firm applications (i.e.Microsoft Office, iManage, Interaction the Legal MacPac and/or DTE a plus) normally acquired through certified coursework or equivalent.
· College degree preferred.
· Must be fluent in Spanish
· Three years progressively responsible work experience with PC-based legal or professional services firm/organization in order to gain experience in resolving complex computer problems. Law firm experience a plus (legal support staff or technology position.)
· Must have at least one year of recent work experience in technology field, either as a trainer or support provider.
· Ability to demonstrate familiarity with LAN/WAN and computer networks. Hardware troubleshooting (intermediate to advanced levels of hardware support a plus) experience. A basic understanding of networking concepts preferred but not required.
· Must be willing to travel to Mexico and South America
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with little supervision.
· Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties. Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions and stress.
· Work frequently requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
· Work requires a reasonable amount of physical activity such as moving computers and printers and connecting cables under furniture.
