Bilingual Sales Representative

Our client is the only company to provide customers with an integrated information systems and services that combines reference databases, subscription management, online journals and books. Always at the leading edge, they continue to work to identify new challenges and combine technology with data to meet the information needs of their customers worldwide.

 

The Field Sales Representative will be selling our clients products and services to librarians at colleges and universities; community colleges; government libraries; corporate libraries; public libraries; medical and hospital libraries; and public and private school systems.  Their products and services include electronic journal subscription services, electronic resource management programs, electronic databases, electronic books, and print subscription services.

 

Our client is currently seeking a Bilingual Field Sales Representative for the Eastern Canadian (Ontario, Quebec and Maritime provinces) located in either Ottawa or Toronto, ON.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Growing and managing existing accounts as well as new business development within your territory.

·         Provide balanced sales coverage of named accounts in his/her territory - eastern Canada – Ontario and the Maritimes (excluding Quebec).

·         Representatives to set up trials when appropriate.

·         Travel 40% - 50% within eastern Canada as well as attend conferences and trade shows as deemed necessary.

·         Achieve an expert level of knowledge of our clients’ publishing products and competition.

·         Provide input from the market for product development and marketing

·         Develop sales strategy for their region for overall sales.

·         Communicate with Director of Sales weekly.

 

Requirements:

 

·         Must be bilingual (French English)

·         University or College Degree

·         5+ years sales experience

·         A background in electronic resource sales, library sales, or education sales.

·         A background in “relationship sales” with long sales cycles

·         Proven ability to work independently

·         Excellent presentation/public speaking skills

·         Knowledge of web conferencing/presentations such as WebEx

·         Electronic publishing experience an asset

·         Strong understanding of computers and library research

·         Strong MS Office experience and internet search experience

·         Demonstrated ability to prioritize and be organized

·         Must have proven communication, follow-up, and strong sales skills

·         Must demonstrate strong initiative

·         Must work well with a team and have the ability to delegate

·         Must be willing to travel extensively

·         Must have home office space

 

Your background in sales and your interest in the education and research can open doors for a career with our client. Your post secondary education lends you a perspective of educational publishing, and has advanced your organizational and time management skills. You are able to develop, implement and maintain sales strategies, and analyze marketing strategies. You enjoy collaborating with a team on projects, and are interested in supporting new product development, using feedback from your customers.
