Billing Audit Specialist Job in San Antonio 78229, Texas US
The Dealer Billing/Audit Services (DBAS) specialist performs the vital role of insuring that dealers are accurately billed and that all invoices are sent in a timely manner. The DBAS specialist also performs several monthly audits to clarify that our dealers are being billed for the services we provide and not being billed for services to which they do not subscribe. The DBAS specialist, by insuring the accuracy and timeliness of dealer billing, plays a critical part in helping to maintain the financial health of United Central Control (UCC).
Essential Functions:
- Ensures that all applicable charges are properly set up in the automation system and accounting software
- Handles and processes service audits on a monthly basis including (but not limited to) cellular services, 800 telephone usages, DID services and all other related services provided by UCC utilizing MS Excel.
- Preparation of dealer invoices to ensure distribution on or before the 20th of each month
- Prepares monthly dealer billing reports and process billing functions on the 15th of each month utilizing manual entries in the automation system, accounting software and spreadsheets
- Performs audits to verify each dealer invoice and supporting documentation is accurate before distribution
- Reviews and verifies late fees, credits, charges, and all applicable charges for service after management approval
- Reviews detailed reports in the automation system using Query and ODBC to ensure accurate billing for new dealers, special services, etc.
- Creates queries for customer requested reports and invoice details
- Creates and maintains Account Receivable (AR) numbers and custom charges for new dealers in the automation system
- Organizes and maintains accurate records and files on the network and in the automation system
- Makes recommendations for new and innovative ideas to help streamline the billing process
- Provides excellent customer service to dealers in reference to billing questions and discrepancies
- Provides general office assistance including such activities as copying, faxing, scanning, email and telephone communications
- Completes task list and checklist items for new and cancelled dealer procedures within timelines required
- Completes any other special projects or assignments as requested by supervisor or management and assists in other company areas as necessary
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested
Requirements:
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) (Some college is preferred.)
- Two years general office experience
- At least one year billing and A/R experience required
Skills and abilities:
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel
- Ability to create and maintain various types of spreadsheets, and reports for analyzing data
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and calendar functions
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred
- Type 40 wpm or more computer keyboard skills
- Must be a highly motivated, positive friendly individual
- Ability to perform at a high level of accuracy and perform with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to use the phone system
- Ability to use thinking to solve complex verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment under stringent timelines.
