This position will perform and lead centralized billing functions. Individual is integral in leading a team of specialists in a shared service environment serving multiple branches to perform all customer billing. This individual will help to continue to refine, develop, implement and maintain policy and procedure surrounding these functions as well as establish and maintain best practices. Individual is responsible for developing new team members.
Billing Management
- Assist in the coordination of program changes and reporting needs with core software IT department as well as database administrators.
- Assist with the documentation of interpretation and compliance issues. Issues identified will be addressed with Director of Transaction Services with solutions determined and documented.
- Participate in review process of billing/revenue recognition processes and improve procedures which are deficient, i.e. planning and strategizing on policies and procedures.
- Establish and validate individual and department goals utilizing service level measurements established as well as error evaluations.
- Maintain exemplary customer service.
- Assist both internal and external auditors with customer related requests.
Staff Development
- Lead and focus the billing team on a prioritized direction, while aligning resources to ensure success.
- Monitor individual and team performance to ensure department goals and service level agreements are met or exceeded.
- Direct and manage staff in their functional duties.
- Coach and mentor team to ensure strategic development of the group.
- Create processes and systems to ensure the department is challenged, growing and developing in their respective roles.
- Lead and integrate daily work around teaming, project management and process improvement.
- Set and communicate expectations to Director of Shared Services.
Drive Process Improvements
- Continuously challenge current practices and procedures as the business evolves to implement improvements in policy, procedure and systems.
- Ensure documentation is consistently and continuously updated as part of best practice of maintaining documentation.
- Ensure that documentation and data accumulation standards are documented and enforced.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or related field required
Experience
- 5-7 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years leadership background.
- Peoplesoft experience preferred but not required
