Bindery / Folder Operator Job in Jacksonville 32256, Florida Us
OVERALL PURPOSE:
The Bindery Operator is responsible for producing folded or flat material from continuous forms or cut sheets.
QUALIFICATIONS / BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School equivalent
- Able to read, write and apply basic mathematics
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude helpful
- Extensive background check / verification
- Annual Drug Testing
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Report when a product does not meet quality standards
- Keep work area clean and safe at all times
- Report any need for equipment repairs to the mechanic / supervisor
- Assist other operators when necessary
- Follow sack / tray print out to keep material in zip code sequence
- Salvage damaged material when every possible
- Maintain machine speeds for maximum productivity and minimum waste
- Know how to start form in cutters and bursters
- Do minor adjustments
- Follow proper stacking requirements for each job
- Perform standard set-up
ENVIRONMENT:
- Requires being able to move fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to operate equipment eight (8) hours a day
- Must have good manual dexterity
- Must be able to work effectively in an environment, which includes paper dust, propane forklift equipment, paper ink, standard industry lubricants and cleansers and also hot and cold temperatures
