Area Informa tion: Arkansas Post National Memorial is located on AR 169 seven miles sout h of Gillett via US 165. The park is 20 miles south of DeWitt and 20 miles northeast of Dumas. These towns provide hospitals, doctors, dentists, schools, and some shopping opportunities. The closest large city is Pine Bluff to the northwest. Housing can be found in these areas. (I understand that excess specialized experience can substitute for general experience; but excess general experience cannot be substituted for required specialized experience). General experience - any type of work that demonstrates the ability to perform the work of the position or experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation. Specialized experience - Work involving one of more aspects of vegetation management such as performing basic vegetation inventories, studies, and surveys; participating in site rehabilitation through soil preparation, native seed dispersal, live planting and weeding; applying/performing a variety of manual, mechanical, chemical, and/or bio-control methods in planned management of exotics (non-natives), native species, and/or weeds; etc. or EDUCATION : Completed at least two years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) with course work in a related field of scientific or technical study, such as botany, forestry, biology, or natural resources. At least 6 semester hours of this related course work was in forestry, botany, or plant-related subjects. or Combination: I have an equivalent combination of education and experience. For example, I have 6 months of general experience (50% of the experience requirements for this position and grade level) combined with one year of education as outlined above (50% of the education required to qualify), which included at least 6 semester hours of scientific or technical courses, such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics. At least 3 semester hours of courses must be directly related to this position. Examples of directly related courses are plant or botany-related subjects.
