Biomedical Equipment Technician Job in Scott Air Force Base 62225, Illinois US

 

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

·       Must be experienced in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining medical devices, having worked for at least 2 years in an in-house BMET program in a health institution or with a clinical engineering program for 5 years with a medical device manufacturer.

·       Must be able to troubleshoot and repair complex electronic devices down to the component level.

·       Must be experienced with inventory and ordering procedures that are commonly associated with the repair and maintenance of electronic, electric, and electro-mechanical equipment.

·       AAMI certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician is recommended.

·       Must have familiarity with JCAHO E of C standards for medical equipment management.

·       Educational background should include the completion of a two-year associate degree program in Biomedical Equipment Technology, or military/non-military equivalent.

·       Four-year degree in related field preferred. 

·       Exceptional customer service—good oral and written communication skills.

·       A valid state driver’s license.

·       Military experience preferred.

·       Ability to travel required.
